Winning Trainer: Stephen Brown

“All she had to do was ride him sweetly and he was going to be really competitive. Will Price got beaten on him here and he probably should have just about won. He went to Ballarat and missed the kick, couldn’t come from (further) back so Mitch (Aitken) rode him the other day, he just got ridden right (today).

“I was really happy. I asked her (Kah) had she looked at his replays and she said ‘yep’ so I then asked if she knew what to do and she said ‘yep’. So I said I’d leave it up to you (her).”

Did he feel the pressure of a well-backed runner: “No. All you need is a bit of luck. I nearly scratched him today from the draw, but things were looking alright with the rain.”

Winning Jockey: Jamie Kah

“I was little bit worried that they might have put on a little bit too much pressure for us but he jumped beautifully and I had to do a little bit of work to get there, but he’s a very tractable horse and he came back underneath me. He’s obviously a very competitive horse.

“Great to get a winner for Stephen.”

Her parents were hiding away from the rain at Caulfield - treble at Caulfield and Flemington: “It’s good to have them here. I think they’re my lucky charm.”

** SALE TOMORROW - Sam Freedman on two runners:

RACE 7 - Office Jim:  “He’s probably ready for 13 or 1400 metres but we’re sending him here because there’s a lot of rain around and he like the sting out of the ground. If it is a 1200 (metre race) that races like a 1300 or 1400 metre event on a heavy track then that will suit him.

RACE 3 - Kirrek: “He was unlucky at Mornington and when he got caught on the rail he basically went around untried. He gives the impression that he’ll like getting out to 1400 metres. If it is a soft track I don’t know how he’ll handle it. But he’s going there improved out of his last run so he should be highly competitive if he gets a good run. He is drawn wide so he’ll need some luck.

“A bigger track should suit.”
