Winning Trainer: Tom Dabernig & Ben Hayes (Ben Hayes interviewed)

“He really travelled well the whole race. Mark had to get strong on him late but he kicked today and was able to get his nose over the line which was fantastic.

“He’s with the Mirunner (group) and I’m sure they’ll all be very pleased. He’s always runs good races and gives a big thrill and gets you out of the seat. I hope they’re enjoying the ride and how good is it to ride a winner at Flemington.”

Winning Jockey: Mark Zahra

Four points in it: “We’re going alright. We saved the Power Plays until last. We let the country boys get a lead and get full of themselves. Dean Yendall gave himself a bit of a pump up before. He’s kidding himself. We’re within reach now.

On the horse:
“He puts himself there and gives his all. He’s a bit funny in the barriers. I was lucky today, he stood and wasn’t there long. He flew the gates and I was where I wanted to be. I had Dean Yendall give me a nice drag along and I was able to take over in the last furlong and he was too tough in the end.”

Coming to the last race - city: “We’ve got to give them a good rev-up. I think the GOAT is in the last. He was having a little sleep before so hopefully he is awake and ready to go.”
