“The original plan was to give her two jump outs then head to the races but she had a jump out at Flemington the other day, Jamie went and rode her and she pulled up a treat so she probably had a little bit more residual fitness from the spring that she’d carried over and only needed the one jump out.

“We thought we’d give her the extra run and she’s on a path towards the Surround Stakes in Sydney at the end of February so that opens our options. We can either come back here next Saturday and run in the Kevin Hayes or head to Sydney and run in the Light Fingers in the lead-up.

“She’s owned by Rick Surace who is a breeder and the black type and Group 1’s are what we aim for. She was an expensive buy by Ricky so we aim for the top and hopefully we can get there.”

More improvement to come: “Yeah definitely. She had a couple of gallops leading into that jump out so there’s plenty of improvement to come. I’d say she’s had a good blow today and that will blow the cobwebs out for a (in) couple of weeks time.”

Winning Jockey: Jamie Kah

“It’s always really rewarding when she wins for us because she’s been quite a hassle in the early days, in the gates and in her manners, but now everytime I get on her she’s getting better and more relaxed.

“Today was great. She was a bit underdone but I told Anthony and Sam that we’d probably prefer to come here and not have another jump out, and she needed it. She knocked up but she was too good.”

“The team does a great job with her at home. I come up for some gallops on her. We’ve done a lot of work with her in the gates and what works for her. I think we’ve worked her out because she’s a smart horse and over further I think she’s got a good race in her.”
