“We love this horse. He really is a quite achiever and such a gentleman. We just told Harry to ride him where he’s comfortable today and not flush him out too soon and try and get towed into the race.

“Harry rode him beautifully. He snuck up the fence and really exposed him late. He was so strong through the line and we’re very proud of him.”

On H Coffey: “We love Harry. He helps is out wherever he can. He’ll ride at Caulfield, Ballarat, wherever he is needed. He follows instructions so well but really thinks on his feet. Really happy to give him a winner today.”

What’s next: “I’m not sure. He likes the soft going. Not sure if he wants to go out and then back from the spring or one more run. He’s still learning his craft a little bit. Full credit to the team and delisted for the owners.”

Winning Jockey: Harry Coffey

In the run: “I just thought that I’ve got to cop my medicine and ride the race where I’m put. I actually wanted to follow Jamie (Kah, Seb Song) the whole way and just early on there was a bit of maneuvering going on.

“I got pushed to the inside just off her heels and I thought I’ll just have to cop this now. The race, they kept running along nicely. I was traveling super and I thought if I got a bit of room he’s a chance of running third.

“Late when everyone was bobbing up and down in the one spot and I was still going alright I thought I’d better style here, I’m going to win. That’s how the race played out.

“We obviously had a lot of luck when the runs came but when he ridden that way and the luck comes, he can be pretty dynamic and that’s what he was today.”
