Thoughts on the win: “He got an absolute peach of ride from Harry Coffey then. A beautiful ride. The horse is going really well.

Leading up to this race: “I got back from holiday and I said to Dec (Declan Maher) about Seiners Express do we back him up on Saturday, two weeks after he won, and he said definitely as he bounced through the run.

“He was spot on and the staff at home have done a great job with him.

“He’s a bit of a sleeper to be honest. He doesn’t do much at home without the blinkers on and didn’t show a whole lot early on. The shades have helped, a bit of confidence and the cut in ground has helped and he’s putting it all together.”

H Coffey a favourite amongst the stable: “He is. He’s a great guy. He rides a lot of winners for us. It’s really great to give him the opportunity in town which he doesn’t get a lot. But when he does, he has taken it and grabbed it with both hands. That was a really, really good ride.”

“His one two weeks ago was an absolute cracker, it was probably a bit better (than today). We really enjoy working with him.”

Regarding the connections: “Mikey who does all of our media stuff as well, him and his mates have a share in this horse so they will be going berserk at home.

“He was, which depicted me as fairly boring I thought but yes, he was the man that made that.”

Winning Jockey: Harry Coffey

On his partnership with Seiners Express: “He’s been providing some pretty handy results for me this horse. We had a lot go right today, probably not as much as last start on him, but I was in beautiful rhythm the whole way, three-wide with a bit of cover and I was able to move into the race when I wanted to.

“He probably got there and peaked on his run a touch, whereas at his last start he was hidden away, got out late and really burst through.

“It’s good that he’s been able to win in different circumstances and he’s been pretty good to me to provide me with two Flemington wins.”
