“He did a good job then. I was really happy with that, obviously, and he’s got a very good record at this track and distance hence why we came here first-up.

“He just wasn’t going things too good last time in. He wanted to get it all back-to-front. He had a good break, came back and he’s trialled well into this. Very happy with the way he went.

The race didn’t pan out as expected: “Originally it wasn’t (the plan). I thought we were going to get a lovely run behind the two that came out, but I just said to Will how well he jumped was going to determine where he sat and just keep him happy, go along with him and use the claim well. He did a good job.”

<Indicated that it wasn’t his money that caused the late market move>

Winning Jockey: Will Price

“It was good to get one for ‘Nobby’, he’s doing a great job wherever he sends them. I’m doing a little bit of work for him so it’s great that it can pay off.

“Prior to the scratchings we were hoping that we could get a nice bit of cover and hoped he could work to the line, but with the scratchings he looked the only leader out there so we were happy to let him jump on his terms but he grabbed the bridle, travelled beautifully. I clicked him up around the corner and he was right there for me and he was too strong.”
