“She’s had a few ups and downs. From the time we bought her she went over the fence in the paddock and too the front of her near fore knee out.

“She had a setback and was very highly strung. We’ve taken our time with her, one run last preparation and was a bit over exuberant and wanted to get on with the job.

“This time around she’s come back a different horse. She’s more receptive to doing things we want her to do and going about it the right way.

“She’s got a good racing style and I think there’s still a bit more upside in her because the way she’s been relaxing at home she’s given us the impression that she might get a bit further in distance even though her mother was a very fast filly, Obsidian Dragon.

“This filly, we think down the track she’ll get to 1400.

“It’s great. We earmarked this race a few months ago and it was good she got the job done.”

No rush to get to the Magic Millions in 2022: “No, we’ll take her through her grades. Maybe the next year or the year after. Hopefully she’s still on her feet but we’ll keep peppering away with her and try to get her record going north and try to get a great result for the owners.

“They (owners) have been a great bunch of guys because they’ve been very patient with her and they’ve been patient with us, too, because they haven’t given us too much pressure.

“I know when you’ve paid a lot of money for them there’s always pressure.”

Winning Jockey: Michael Dee

“It was looking a bit tricky there for a while. I had to bide my time for a little bit longer than I wanted to and as it turned out I got out too early and as soon as I did she really lengthened and put them away in a matter of strides. A good win in the end.

“She’s always been a work-in-progress. She tends to do a few things wrong but she’s really putting it together now.

“She was just behind the leaders then and traveled strong but I think she’s relaxing well enough that she could stick out over further.”
