Winning Trainer: John Sadler (rep by Mick Nolan)

“It’s great to see him win. He’s a great little horse. Not to say that he’s little, he’s a big horse. He’s a funny little horse. If he gets his way then he’s very hard to beat and he was always (looking like) you’d think he’d be a good straight horse - cruise and then sprint. Straight races, a lot of then nowadays, they sit up and sprint home. He’s the perfect horse for it.

“From the 990 (metre mark) he was never going to get beaten.

Blinkers off today helped: “Most definitely. He got a little bit keen the other day at Caulfield. He sort of half missed the kick at Caulfield and ran a very, very quick 600-400. It was like it was Black Caviar speed.

“Today he settled better and it was like he was comfortable in his action and that’s how you’ve got to ride him - let him flow. It was good he won. The owners are happy and the punters will be happy. Onwards and upwards.”

Winning Jockey: Michael Dee

“He was well-placed by the team today. It was the perfect race for him - a small field, 1000 metres. When he can jump as well as he did today you do no work on him. They went along at a good tempo and that’s just how he goes. I never felt like we were going to get beaten.

“He was quite relaxed for him. We did get the clerk of the course down and he was quite relaxed. 1000 metres, right races, there’s certainly a lot more in-store.”
