Winning Trainer: Ciaron Maher & Dave Eustace (Dave speaking)

“He’s a nice horse. I was cursing a bit in the run. He was a bit green and rolling around. It was a good effort to win, actually. There’s more to come.

“He’s going to improve with racing and just a little bit more time, he’ll get further. It was 1400 metres at Warrnambool and we were a little bit worried about the 1300 metres. He just there so he doesn’t need to go up massively in trip.

The horse shouldn’t have won today: “Not really. But I’m delighted for Matt. He rode a few seconds for us yesterday and for Colin & Janice McKenna. They bred him and get a thrill out of any winner in their colours.

Breeding: “He’s out of a fast mare and we’re going to have some fun with him.”

“He won’t go to the paddock. He’s thriving. He deserves to go to a Saturday race. He’ll love Flemington when he gets there. There’s a nice program for these three-year-olds. There’s VOBIS, good prizemoney and he’ll continue through winter.”

Winning Jockey: Matt Cartwright

“He’s a bit green fella still so he’ll take good upside out of that and definitely next prep he’ll be a nice furnished horse.

“I was a long way off them and he didn’t help himself because he didn’t travel (well) at all. I got to the outside and he did lengthen out well. I didn’t know if I was going to get there because he was out there by himself but he really put it to the sword and got there. It was a good win.”
