Winning Trainer: Dan O’Sullivan (rep by Jaylah Kennedy)

“It was unbelievably tough. She was extremely unlucky last start at Caulfield. She’s just flying at the moment. Her work at home has just been grouse and it’s a great team effort and really good for a great owner as well. He’s very loyal and patient.

“She’s a horse that a lot of us have a go on (in work). Dan has actually been riding her over the last few days. It’s great.

Affair To Remember in the All-Star Mile: “She’s going great. She’s coming up super. She’s become a really strong horse this time around so it’s very exciting going forward. Get amongst it! Vote for her!”

Winning Jockey: Will Price

First master/apprentice city winner: “It was a great feeling going over the line.”

On the run: “Just before the corner I thought we might be in a bit of strife from doing a little bit of work early but we travelled sweetly through the run. Once we were able to roll back down to the fence, I thought we were right against it but she was super tough tonight.

“I was really happy with her work earlier in the week and she was luckless last start at Caulfield. The start before that she won really well at Warrnambool and I was slightly confident tonight knowing that she worked quite well and the work has paid off.”

Mick Price on Extreme Warrior at Caulfield on Tuesday - won’t be at Sandown tomorrow: “He’s a quick horse, he’s a tenacious horse. I’d say that there’s improvement in him fitness-wise. He had a gallop this morning on the Polytrack and Liam Riordan rode him. I just noticed that between the 400 and the 200 he was 11.66, last furlong 11.99 and I did say to Liam to ‘make your last furling your best’.

“The horse came back in and had a puff. He’s had two trials and it’s only 1000 metres. He’s going to be in the finish but if fitness pinches him against some raced horses, then that’s ok, I’ll wear that.”

“He’s in beautiful order and he’ll race very well. His tenacity might get him there but he’s not quite 100 per cent fit but that’s ok, he’s not supposed to be 100 per cent with a month off the Blue Diamond.”

Result from Gold Coast: “It was great. We ended up with 33 horses and we got good support. Seamus Mills bought some beautiful fillies for those Odeum guys. Their wheel is turning, they’ve got momentum behind them which is great to see. We’ve got some to sell, some lovely horses and we got given some. It was good.”
