Coming back to 1200m: “There weren’t a lot of races around for her at 1400. Back in distance worked out well.

“The field (track) has been playing evenly today and it was looking pretty good. When we drew (barrier) one I thought ‘great’. Probably the biggest query was first time down the straight but she came out and showed that she could do it.”

Instructions to jockey: “Pretty much left it to him. We talked about it early doors just to get a bit of cover early and let her rip about the 300 metre mark.

“I was (confident) in the run. I elbowed one of my guys in the back at about the 800 and I thought we pretty much had it from there.”

Winning Jockey: Teodore Nugent

“It was a perfectly run race. She jumped out of the gates really well. The speed was genuine early. She’s a lovely little horse. She does everything so right. A push-button horse. She settles when I ask her.

“When you ask to her to accelerate, boy does she have a turn-of-foot.

“Thanks to Ken King for giving me the opportunity. He was a great supporter of mine ever since I started riding.

“I rode this horse early as a young two-year-old. To see her go through the grades and end up in town is a big thing.

“You’ve really got to get along with this filly. She does a few things wrong but I think if you’re nice to her she’s nice to you. She’s got a beautiful turn-of-foot and hopefully we can pinch a little black-type with her.”
