Winning Trainer: Anthony & Sam Freedman (Sam interviewed)

“It was a nicely timed right. He’s not the easiest of rides. I think everyone saw last start he was a train wreck so it was good to get him to the outside and let him finish off and finish off hard.

“He’s a horse that peaks third and fourth-up and he enjoys spacing his runs so a big thank you to all his owners. Justin Bahen sourced him from Europe and he was a really good buy. He’s earnings are going up and up and he’s got a really bright future.

“Off that we’ll possibly consider getting him out to the 2000 metres. He’s been reluctant but now that he’s a bit stronger and a bit mature a race like the Mornington Cup Prelude in three weeks could suit him.”

Winning Jockey: Jamie Kah

“The (Freedman) team is absolutely flying and it’s great to be a part of it. It wasn’t the prettiest run we’ve had. We had a nice run early but one thing Sam said to me was to get out and get going early and it doesn’t matter if you’re wide.

“I had to ride him a bit ugly on the turn and he was too good in the finish.”

Out to 2000m: “Further will be perfect for him. He just wants to relax early and go to sleep and his best work was the last 50 metres so further will be perfect.”
