“We were rapt to get her to 1200 metres, that’s been the key. Just took a nice sit today and got a lovely run.

“It was a ten-out-of-ten ride from Daniel.

“We’re generally slow starters to the season and this mare has finished off her three-year-old career well and had a long break so it has just taken a while to get her fit.

“We just lowered the bar a bit now and hoped to get the Saturday win being a four-year-old mare. She’s already group placed and hoping to get some black type somewhere but we’re happy to bob along and collect some prizemoney.”

Winning Jockey: Daniel Moor

Conditons:  “It’s blustery. It’s probably swirling around a little bit. It’s not a strong westerly so it is swirling around a touch.

“We identified good speed with Faretti and Hela, we thought there’d be a good speed and it gave us the opportunity to ride her just off them. That was the winning move in the finish.

“I’d say we just had a bit softer run. We had a cruisy run and was able to peel off the backs when required. She gave a good kick and sort of peaked at that. I thought ‘of we’re not going to get by’ but then she dug in for the fight and she was strong.”

Future in black type: “She probably deserves her spot. She was probably ready to go as a three-year-old but the four-year-old mares might have caught up to her a fraction but she only knows how to try.

“She’s rarely run a bad race and she puts herself in the right spot so we can be hopeful.”
