“Like our last preparation, she had a few hiccups - lost a race on protest and still a bit sore about that. She’s come back and a bit bigger and stronger but she was a lot more relaxed today which is good for her.”

Down the straight: “That was the biggest query going up the straight but she handled it quite well today.”

Winning Jockey: Matthew Cartwright

“Teo (Nugent) was full of praise when I talked to him earlier today so I can’t thank him enough for the ride. Obviously he should have ridden it.”

On the run: “She was good. She was pretty fired up pre-race. She jumped clean out of the gates. Just to come back from a bit of cover - I was following Veranovska - I thought it was the right horse to follow but it wasn’t travelling as good so I popped of its back and got a good cart into it.

“She let down good and she was strong late so she’s in for a good prep.”

Curran on Friday night over 955m: “He’s had the break and he’s first-up but he’s been prepping up really well and I think we’ve got a nice draw so he should be pretty hard to beat.”
