Winning Trainer: Colin Little

“I was very proud of him. I thought he looked great in the mounting yard. We actually bought this horse in New Zealand and left him there to run in the Ready To Run Sales but everything went wrong, he fell over being broken in so we finished up bringing him to Australia and he’s never let us down.

“Loves the going and I really thought he looked great today.

“I thought he went pretty well today because I just thought he needed a little bit of cover (but) didn’t get it. Even though he drew (barrier) one he didn’t get cover. Tries very hard, this hose. Tries very hard. “He’s a lovely horse to have in the stable. He’s not that hard to train and he always looks well and puts his heart and soul into it.”

Winning Jockey: Jamie Mott

“I always thought we was a good chance today so now that we’ve got one on the board hopefully the other guys and girls can get a bit of confidence from that and get a win themselves.”

On the horse: “A really nice feel today. Patrick Moloney spoke to me the other day and he’s trialled him. I watched his trials and he trialled really good. Obviously from barrier one it’s not always ideal up the straight but I was able to get into a nice rhythm and when I went for him he responded well.

“I knew ‘Willo’ was coming late on the favourite so I was doing my best and the two of us found enough to hold him off.”

Country Coach - Kevin Sheedy: “It’s a great effort by Jamie to come back after that injury but it’s good to see the Dreamtime colours up - black and yellow and red - a bit of Bombers and a bit of Tigers so I’m very happy with that.

“He rode that horse the best he could. Obviously just got over the line, Modear was coming and had a great run on the inside but it’s those third positions (placings) that help. Little points help.

Mott walks past: “Well done, Jamie! I’ll give you a big hug…. after COVID.”

Craig Williams walks past: “Bad luck, Craig. Bit stiff mate but keep it up.” Williams responds: “I lost but I learned.”
