“I thought she would (improve second-up). Her work on Tuesday was really good. If anyone likes Alpine Express later in the day, I think his form was pretty good, too.
“She really put her hand up to say she was fit.
“Good run. She had a big weight, stuck on a limb four or five deep. No cover, and soft ground. I reckon she got anchored a little bit.
“Masterful plan by Jamie and the staff. Put her in against the boys and got a really good weight relief and we saw what she did.
“She was fit and ran a really good race under handicap conditions.
“She was everywhere. I had the whip in the left and the right, she had the visors so she could still see a little but through those cups. Obviously she’s still very new and I tried to keep her as straight as I could.
“She was a bit new and has raw ability there.”
The track: “After the first race I was scared that it would be on-speed bias but it will be a firm deck by the last race and hopefully it plays fair all day.”
