“It was an easy watch. I think after they’d gone a hundred metres it was the Ancestry of old. Great for the connections and it was a forgive run first-up, too higher pressure races but we saw the real Ancestry today and we’ll build on it.
“He rates this horse beautifully, he knows him well. It was just good to see him back.”
What’s next: “We’ve got plenty of options. I just wanted to see him back so we’ll sit down and map out a plan.”
Maybe Adelaide: “He could be. I don’t know. A bit track like Morphettville or is he a Moonee Valley horse? Plenty to think about but it’s good to have him back.”

“I’m just rapt to see him back to his best. I did all his work in the lead-up to the Oakleigh Plate and he gave me the feel like he was going to be hard to beat in it but just peaked late in his run. He still only got beaten three-and-a-half (lengths) so it was still a super effort.
“Today he just flew the lids. He crossed them within 50 metres and that’s what he did to Jungle Edge when he stepped out here. From the 600 (metre mark) I gave him a bit of rein and said it was time to go. He did it pretty comfortably.
“He presented in a completely different way than what he did on Oakleigh Plate Day. He was hot and flustered in the yard, went around to the gates a bit fierce, was on his toes behind there but today he was back to his best. Really calm, he’s a lazy trackworker sometimes and he went out there and got to the barriers calm.
“He got around there, that’s when he woke up and got on his toes and it was game day today.”
Is he more a Moonee Valley horse: “I think all on-speed sprinters are better at Moonee Valley, especially him. He rails like a greyhound. The win at Cranbourne, we could have broken the track record on him. He booted away from them there. He’s won three-from-three here now and I wouldn’t be afraid to come back to The Valley in a pretty strong race and be competitive.”
