On Jamie Kah: “She’s a very good horse person and jockey. She just said that she felt that if she put this mare up there (on the speed) that it dulls her finish. So she rode it very cold especially when the sectionals lent themselves to a horse up front.

“But I suppose that’s the benefit of a fillies and mares benchmark 78. She’s a 70-type rated mare and she got away with it.

“She’s got a little stakes placing and I would love to slip her across to Adelaide in a nice mile race at some point and see if we can win a black type listed race - she’s not much better than that. Anyway, she’s good fun for Mill Park Stud and Peter Anastasiou. He would have enjoyed that ride from J Kah having seen his text message a few weeks ago which was a ripper.”

Winning Jockey: Jamie Kah

“I didn’t think Mick would be rapt seeing me back that far but every time I’ve ridden her handy she’s been a bit plain and she’s had some really eye catching runs coming from the rear of the field. Would live to have been a pair closer but from that gate we were just stuck there in the end.

“She’s got that electric turn-of-foot when she’s ridden quietly and showed it today.”

The wind: “When I peeled out at the top of the straight you could really feel the wind. She was just too good for them and just needed a nice quiet first half of the race and she showed her class and ability late.”

Track: “Fabulous to ride on, it always is. Perfect conditions for racing today.”
