Winning Trainer: Ciaron Maher & David Eustace (rep by Lucy Yeomans)

“He’s a quirky horse and we’re not really sure what went wrong last prep, to be honest. His work has been great this prep and his run first-up at Sandown was very bold so we felt quite confident today.

“You never like to come here expecting to win but we were hopeful and proud of how he went today.

“Once there was a bit of rain coming we thought the conditions would suit him.”

<No firm plans for next outing?

Winning Jockey: Mark Zahra

“It was painless. He was nice and relaxed outside the leader and the further we went the more he towed me, and he towed me a long way into the straight before I had to go for him. I was confident.

“That’s his perfect ground. I think too heavy is not ideal but a 6 or 7, just perfect.

“This time of year I think he can keep poking along in these sorts of races.”

One more ride in the last race: “My wife is at home and hopefully she hasn’t given birth just yet so wait for me, I’ve only got one more to come and I’ll be home.”
