Winning Trainer: Andrew Noblet

“We thought we’d be up there somewhere just depending on keeping the horse happy. If something wanted to cross us then we’d be fine with that. When we got left there, Willie judged the pace well and got the job done.

“We’ll just see where his rating sits. He ran really well first-up and took him to Adelaide and everything went pear shaped the other week so he’s come back nicely and an all-Western Australian win: Western Australian horse and Western-Australian jockey. Hopefully we can keep the team together.”

Witchful Thinking in Race 3: “She’s pulled up no worries at all. Just probably wants a bit further.”

Winning Jockey: William Pike

“All of the decisions were made by the horse. As soon as we stepped he stepped out that fast and that keen that you’d be silly to interfere.”

Relationship with A Noblet: “I just got a whole lot better then. Andrew gave me rides right from the first day I was here. I’m grateful.”

Post-William Reid win: “It was good. It’s always nice when you get in the car and you’ve got 20 or 30 text messages. You know you’ve had a good day. I try to catch up with everyone that I can and it’s nice to get the well-wishes.”
