“Wasn’t it fantastic. Anthony Mithen from Rosemont Stud was on the phone. They’re so excited.

“This is our only runner for the carnival so it was probably a tip in itself, wasn’t it. She’s a lovely filly. We tried to get her in (to a race) and the win for her and 1200 metres at Warrnambool, lovely sunny day, could you think of a better place to be?

“The wonderful thing about Warrnambool is that it brings together people from all walks of life, different socioeconomic backgrounds. Fabulous stories and this is what racing is about.”

Winning Jockey: Michael Walker

“She was good and strong today. Not only do I have to thank Butter Blonde for the ride that she gave me in the heart, but Gai and Adrian’s team at Flemington. They do a tremendous job.

“First-up at Caulfield she was underdone but I’ve been going out there and galloping her of late and I said to Gai that i’d be very disappointed if she does run one-two today. She was very good.

“She’s just a natural born runner. I think that helps her, she’s ‘little and slight’ (meant the opposite). She did a really good job today.

“I wasn’t going to come to the carnival this year but when I knew she was coming, I said I’ll come.”
