“He’s always shown a lot and I think he’s still got a bit to learn but he’s an exciting young horse.

“I think we’ll keep him to the shorts (distances). He’s pretty sharp. We might look to something like the Blue Sapphire next and then if he happens to won or run well again then we can throw him in the Coolmore and see how he goes up the straight.

“He’s only a little horse but he’s got a big stride and he’s got a good turn-of-foot. It was a great tide, too, from Rhys. He sat on the back of the favourite and then had it in a pocket.

“Rhys hasn’t ridden at 56 kilos for a while but he wasn’t going to let anyone else ride this bloke today so a good effort from Rhys.”

McLeod partnership: “We work well together, he’s a part of the team and I said to him about six weeks ago that he wants to start to get fit, get his weight down because he missed out on a few rides here and there. He knows how I trial them, he knows how I gallop them and he does what he’s told and rides to instructions.”

Winning Jockey: Rhys McLeod

“I missed a couple of rides over the last six months through weight and this is the time of year to do it. I rode the weight pretty well and he was worth it.

“I had to the option to stay behind of Taunting or come out and be three-wide with Generation so I thought having a clear run when I wanted to was a better option and it panned out that way.

“I got there far too soon but he stuck to the task well.”
