Winning Trainer: Anthony & Sam Freedman (Sam Freedman speaking)

“It was a great ride. He’s been pretty one dimensional throughout his career and it was a surprise to see one leading. To the horse’s credit he knuckled down and was really strong to the line.

“Probably a little concerned (in the run). He’s a horse that wins his races from the 800 to the 200 and I was a little worried on the turn.

“It is probably going to haunt us for the rest of the season so we’ll come back and have another crack.

“This 55 second challenge is right up his alley so we might come back with the blinkers.”

Winning Jockey: Damien Lane

“Yeah he is (quick). I was surprised mine could lead him, it really had some toe. He’s probably the second quickest horse out of the barriers I’ve ridden I reckon behind Pippie, so he’s got some good early toe and he’s got a good high cruising speed.”

“I actually got a really good run just sitting off them, we went at a good gallop so that just sort of kept him in the same routine that he would be in if he was leading. He just wobbled off the bend a touch, which you can do at Moonee Valley, but then he was good late.”
