First ride: “First of all I just want to say that I hope that Clayton Douglas is alright. He had a tumble early.

“It is all a but of a blur but I had to find my horse’s rhythm and get his confidence up in the first three jumps. He did so and I was a little bit concerned when that loose horse was coming my way.

“He made it easy for me and he’s a horse that I think can go on with it this prep. Exciting.”

In the straight: “I had a little look just to make sure but I was feeling it in my legs, I know that much, and I’ve got a lot of fitness to come but it is very exciting crossing the line.”

“Jumps racing wasn’t something I was keen to do (initially) but working for Paddy for two years now, I just have to thank him as well. I wouldn’t be here without his support along the way.”
