Winning Trainer: Brendan McCarthy (on phone)

“As far as I was concerned he wasn’t a 33-1 chance. Going into his first run I thought he was a but underdone with just one jump out. But coming here and leading into this I was quite happy.

“Matt rode him in a  jump out and we had some confidence with him on.

“His three-quarter sister is Petit’s Reward and she loved The Valley. He races a bit similar to her. Earlier in his career he ran not far behind Yes Yes Yes and Brooklyn Hustle here so that form isn’t too bad.

“He’s probably at the stage where he doesn’t have issues holding him back so he can keep going now in suitable races.”

Winning Jockey: Matt Cartwright

His first winner at Moonee Valley: “The horse is going great, to be honest. I trialed it earlier this prep and it went really good. First-up didn’t go to plan but I talked to Brendan and he said just to keep the horse where it is happy and it ran good.”

Second-up: “I thought that he’d dropped in weight and hopefully he can get a nice run. I knew he was slightly outclassed, but he wasn’t. He ran good.”

His first winner at Moonee Valley: “It felt great. I can’t thank Brendan enough just for giving me the ride.”
