First impression: “Ooohhh ahhh Jamie Kah.

“She’s a lovely rider, isn’t she. Her record shows that.

“This filly has built to that win, she showed that the other day. Just got bloused by one at the weights and she took that nice improvement today with a nicely judged, well timed ride

“I actually thought halfway down the straight that Patrick Moloney on the leader (Witchfulthinking) had controlled the race extremely well and she might struggle to get to it but who was I to doubt her?

What’s next: The final of the Rivette Series (1400m, 3 July), she ran second in a heat of that the other day but you’ve also got the three-year-old handicap on that day* and we might get a bit of weight relief as she’s already a stakes winner. She might have to go up against the boys to get that weight relief.”

Back to stakes company: “That race (latter mentioned) is a stakes race and she’s certainly got that sort of ability so that’s where we’ll aim her, low grade stakes races and see if she can build on that record that she built in Western Australia which was pretty good.”

(*not sure which race Moody is referring to)

Winning Jockey: Jamie Kah

“I thought it was really impressive. That leader, when it is right, is very hard to catch and I thought it was a massive effort from my horse from the rear of the field to build and pick it up like it did.

“I thought my horse might be reaching its peak (at the 200 metre mark) but credit to Peter Moody had her so fit and very sound. She’s a lovely horse to ride.”

(Noted that the breeze had picked up since the first race and some cover would now assist)
