“Thought she was very impressive. We wanted to ride her quiet and finish off and it worked out quite well. She’s always shown ability and it is nice to see them win like that. You don’t expect it but good to see it.

Further in distance: “She’s out of Princess Coup who got out to 2000 metres. We’ll have a look at her when she gets home and looks for spring targets over 1400-1600 metres.

<Indicated the main spring target is the Thousand Guineas at this stage>

Winning Jockey: Mark Zahra

“She had been trialling on wet tracks and I was struggling to get a feel on her. I’ve always had a bit of an opinion (of her) but she’s just taken a bit of time. On dry ground now with race day speed, she showed her true colours.

Better over further: “100 per-cent. We’ve always thought that 1400 metres plus, but wasn’t sure what to expect today. I lobbed right in ‘A’ spot and I travelled a long way. It took a while to get on the right leg and once I got her on that she was off and gone.”

On Chief Altony in the previous race: “I probably didn’t have the best of luck. I needed a bit of momentum. His action was ok but I think he’s a horse who is better with a bit of give in the track.”

Peter Moody on Invincible Caviar: “She looked a lot like mum when she was rolling along, didn’t she. Good effort. Disappointing not to win, of course, but reports on the winner pre-race were very good and we knew that.

“I know the Freedman camp had a big rap on Argentia so there’s no disgrace. This is one of the best two-year-old races we’ve had here since the Blue Diamond and I think it’s going to be a good race. No disgrace to run third to a very, very good filly.”
