What intel before getting aboard: “That’s my first ride for Patrick Payne and it’s great to kick it off with a winner. I spoke to him early this morning and he said just bounce, get him to relax and wherever he’s comfortable and go from there. He needs everything in his favour and I think the biggest thing today was he got in quite light in the weights. Off a dominant win last start I was quietly confident myself. He put them away quite easily at Warracknabeal. As soon as I sat on him in the yard, he took me for bit of a ride. He was quite fresh being four weeks between runs. The feel he gave me before the start was to keep him happy in the run. He jumped out, controlled the race. Everyone left us alone, we had an easy time out in front and he really extended off the back of that. I was really pleased with the performance and hopefully he can go on with it.”

Thoughts on turn: “I was pretty confident because he had a good turn of foot. When I put one around his tail, he really lengthened underneath me. He’s still very new and raw and once he works it all out he’ll be alright.”
