Winning Trainer: Gavin Bedgood

Even better than last win: “I reckon so. Full credit to my staff at home. My work rider, Daniel Schmitt, everyone involved in the horse.

“Daniel galloped her on Tuesday morning and he got off her and said ‘that’s the best she’s worked all prep, keep her breathing and she’ll win again on Saturday’.

“Readying to get on the float today I didn’t think there was much improvement (in her). I thought that she was probably as light as she wants to be. We might back off her for a little bit now and see where she takes us.

“She didn’t get ‘touched’ (start training) until she was four-years-old and to get that amount of prizemoney, and she’s a ‘nothing’ bred horse, yeah, great result.”

Winning Jockey: Lachie King

“She’s quite an easy horse to ride. She’s probably the most honest and ‘push button’ horse I’ve ever ridden. Very, very easy to ride. Jumps the gates, puts herself in a winning position, goes to sleep and you get to the turn and she switches into gear and steams away.

“Beautiful horse. I’d love to own her.

“Gavin said that if I could begin positively, make everyone aware that you’re going to take the lead up. He said that basically she wins her races going up the hill when she running above 12’s. With that in the abc of my mind I tried to get a couple of cheap sectionals and stepped it up for the 1000 (metre mark).

“I sort of knew it was all over on the turn. When she kicks into gear she’s very honest and I knew she’d keep fighting.”
