Goes to another level aided by a great ride: “It was fantastic. He was able to roll across, he got pressured a bit more today, but it was good to see him withstand the pressure and hold a strong gallop all the way to the line. He’s been super, done everything right this prep, bar Yonce that won impressively.

“A big thankyou to the Woods family who have been big supporters of ours and it’s great to get a winner on a big day.”

Go on to maybe a Golden Mile or Adelaide: “We think he’s done a pretty good job. I think we can save him for the spring, but it’s a discussion we need to have with the ownership group, but he’s won a bit of prize money this prep and gone through the grades.”

Toorak: “That’s probably what we’re thinking now. He’s got really good attributes with his racing tactics and he can put himself up on the speed with a lightweight and that could be a nice race for him.”

Winning Jockey: Jye McNeil

On the run: “I thought it was a good, tough performance. He had brilliant gate speed and got into a role where he relaxes very well and we’ve seen him perform well in before. He was very tough in the concluding stages. He’s not a horse you can go too slow on, it’s about finding that happy balance and I feel we did that really well today and that showed over the final stages.”
