“She probably began a little better so she raced at least a pair or two pairs closer than she normally does and Damian has done a good job there.

“She looked before the corner like she was bolting and needed a bit of luck. The gap wasn’t appearing until late but when it did she was able to take it.

“The Valley can be a bit ‘hard-lucky’ sometimes. You have to keep your momentum going with a short little straight. He was able to get out in time and get the job done.”

<Possibly a listed race for fillies in three weeks time next>

Winning Jockey: Damian Lane

“It was a funny run race. There was a bit of pressure there and then they really backed off.

“The leader didn’t want to go tot he fence and it was a little bit tricky there for a while. Luciliy enough I got the good drag through and got the split at the right time.

“She wobbled around a bit getting a bit tired but more so the leader early in the race tricked most of us because it didn’t want to go to the fence.

“Tricky race but I got all the luck at the right time.”

Has she got a future: “I think so. She’s been really promising. Her racing style has probably cost her a couple of times.

“She normally gets back in the ruck and finds a bit of bad luck but from the inside draw I was able to find a close position and hopefully going forward she can be a little bit more versatile and race closer to the speed and give herself a better chance.”
