First up: “He was prepped up really well by the team at Cranbourne. He’s only had the one jumpout so he was fairly soft coming into today. We wanted to ride him fairly conservative and follow Dosh, so it worked out really well.”

The sprint series: “Having handled the straight really well today we can focus on coming back, and there are options up in Sydney if we do want to venture up North. It’s just good to get the victory first up and it opens up a lot of options going forward.”

During the run: “There was good speed today so we were happy to let that go and he relaxed, did everything right. I was able to creep up to them getting towards the course proper and as I was getting level with them I could feel them coming up his inside but I hadn’t fully gone for him and I knew there’d be some sort of response.”

Through the grades: “He put in a fantastic performance today down the straight. It’s always an asset to know you can handle that sort of racing and on the soft conditions so I’m sure he can go through the grades and keep winning.”
