Winning Trainer: Lindsey Smith

On working with Deane Lester (part-owner): It's good to work with Deane. He knows all these tracks and all the conditions. So I'm glad I listened to him. And Alana did a good job.

The horse coming from WA:  Simply because of his style, he's got a beautiful action. He's got a good cruising speed, can maintain it as he showed then so I just saw his style would suit here and specially as I said this morning, if he can run 1400 (metres)  it opens up a different world for him.

What's next? Potentially try and find something for him, perhaps on the Australia Day program. Now that's why Deane, that's how he pays his training fees. He does all the thinking, he just points me in the right direction

Winning Jockey: Alana Kelly

On the race: “I think drawing out wide today was a real asset. He probably didn’t muster as good as I thought he was going to so it gave me the opportunity to let him get into his stride early and he was able to cross them well.

Stamina: “He goes one tempo and he really builds through his gears and puts himself on the line to get run down (if they are good enough). He’s very brave through the line. He holds his pace very well and obviously Lindsey knows his horses very well.
