Ownership: “There’s a group of thirty out here on the lawn and they’re all pretty excited. She was a very cheap horse and it’s worked out very well for her, I think I’ve got them hooked for life now. It’s one of those stories, you get a few of your mates into them and you get a bit of luck, they’re going to remember this day forever.”

Race for good prize money: “I think it’s fantastic. They’ve got the Highways in Sydney and I think these sort of concepts are really good, they give people at the grassroots a feel of the bigtime and that’s what the industry needs. You would have no idea how much fun these guys are having and I think it’s a great concept.”

On Harry: “He’s riding really well and we’ve been having a bit of luck with him lately. He’s doing the work, mind you. He comes and rides gallops and trials and along with Joe Bowditch and Linda Meech, that do a lot of our work, we try and work around those three rider. They’re terrific for our business.”

Winning Jockey: Harry Coffey

Did the tempo and dash home suit her: “She’s very versatile and makes it quite easy to ride. We weren’t going at a solid clip but we were sitting in behind them doing no work.

“Because she is so versatile, if a slight run comes she can ping through it and I was able to do that. I took off after the leaders a little bit earlier than I would have liked. I would have liked to have hidden her away for a little bit longer, but I was going that well I just had to get into the race and the rest is history.

“She was too good and I’m absolutely chuffed. ”
