Winning Trainer: Mark Kavanagh
The win: “It was a good ride, they were walking and he was out deep so he just let him slide. He hasn’t been winning out of turn but he’s been pretty honest and today’s race just suited him. I wasn’t disappointed with Joe going like that but I was a bit surprised that he got to the front so early and he likes it heavy
The horse: “He’s well named.”
Winning Jockey: Joe Bowditch
The race: “I was going to be a bit conservative early and came back and got cover. I’m not sure what happened - if he got galloped on - but he got fired up past the winning post and that made it hard to get back and get cover. I have led on hiom before when he was a colt and he just got run down. I may have held him up a bit but I wasn’t going to make that mistake today and let him roll along.
The win: “I always felt like I was going really well, probably because I stepped it up from the half mile I thought he might be vulnerable the last 100-150 metres but to his credit he was really strong through the line.
On his own discomfort: “I’ve been having a little bit of trouble with my lower back and I think I’ve well and truly done it now. I’ll get the physio to have a look at it and hopefully bounce back tomorrow.”
