Winning Trainer: Ray Besanko

Unlucky run at Sale: “There’s no doubt he should’ve won. Damian (Lane) came in and apologised that things just didn't go right. I think he’s a very good horse and came here today thinking he could win.

On Blaike: “He couldn’t have ridden him any better, he rode him perfect. He’s a very good jockey, Blaike, very good.”

What the win means: “Me and my daughter, she’s a big part of it. I wouldn’t be doing it without her.”

Winning Jockey: Blaike McDougall

How the race unfolded: “He filled me with confidence, the more he got into a rhythm under pressure the better he felt and he let rip down the straight.”

Riding for Ray: “Ray assured me he would (let rip), his run had a lot of merit the other day at Sale. It’s fitting to get a win for Ray on a Saturday, it’s my first winner for him and he’s one of the trainers when I moved down here he’s just been nothing but supportive, he’s always thrown me on. To reward him with a Saturday winner was quite pleasing.”

Om the horse: “The horse has always raced well throughout his career, he’s probably just placed him in quite hard races because he’s got such an opinion of the horse. Down in the weights today, lovely track like Caulfield suited him, there was good speed on and he just does his thing down the straight.”
