Winning Time: 1:xx.xx Last 600m: NA

Margins: 4 Lengths x 1-¼ Lengths

Winning Trainer: Tom Dabernig

On winning his first race for the week: “I was certainly against the ropes. I’ve had a bit of pressure throughout my training career but I must admit, coming to the last without having a winner (was tough).

“I think I’d had five fourths and a third, so they have all, on the whole, raced really well.

“I watched the race with Symon Wilde so I think a bit of his luck rubbed off on me.”

On the horse and owners: “This horse we bought from New Zealand. Tom Payne, one of the owners, he sadly lost his wife, so that was sad, and he’s got covid at the moment. I feel for him but hopefully this will cheer him up.”

Winning Jockey: Blaike McDougall

On bringing the horse down the outside fence: “It was a big buzz having the crowd over the fence so close to me and just hearing them roar.”

On winning at the Carnival: “I’ve ridden a few winners here but this is my first carnival and I’ve had a really good time. It was satisfying to win the last race for Tom.”

On the horse: “He’s always shown a lot this horse. He was always going to be better next prep and it was nice to see him put it all together today on a Heavy track. I was a bit worried about him first-up but Tom’s an astute trainer.”
