“Absolutely fantastic. Just thrilled for this horse, for the owners, our team at home that work so tirelessly with these beautiful animals and special for Vlad, too.

“He was saying before the race that this is the track that he won most at in his career. He knows the track very well.”

The horse: “He’s a horse that loves racing. Absolutely loves it. We just space his races and he just really enjoys being in the stable. I think Vlad has clicked with him so well.

“It was a bit like watching old Bon Hoffa going around again.

“I thought Vlad had him in a really nice spot but when I saw him get out and start to really build.”

Winning Jockey: Vlad Duric

“I’ve had a few little struggles to get back to the saddle but this style of horse has been wonderful to give me a buzz and keep going.

“I was joking with Wendy that he’s done his job now, the old horse. He had his chance to win a good race and we were able to get it done for the connections and I’m really proud of that.

“He’s related to Bon Hoffa and Wendy has been wonderful to me. Even years ago when I was struggling it was Wendy and people like Ian Hutchins who trained here - I rode a lot of winners on this track. They were the guys to get me going.”
