Pleased with the win after jumpot form: “Very pleased. He’s got a good affinity the Little Rooster (Nugent) with this horse. He rode her really well and came down the inside at Sandown and he had a beautiful run there today and had a lot of confidence and rode her really well. He’s riding in good form since he’s come back from injury.”

Lightly-raced and what level can she get to: “I think she’s got a very bright future. Each prep and she is northern hemisphere time and being five-year-old is not very old for one of them. She’s still furnishing, getting sharper and stronger every prep. Whilst they’re doing that they always keep improving. She was fairly soft today in condition and you can see her coat still has to come and still has a bit on her. She’s in for a really solid prep.”

Little Rooster: “I reckon ever since I stepped into the Ciaron Maher barn six years ago we’ve been known as the ‘Rooster’. I’ll definitely take it as my last four rides for Ciaron have been winners.”

How race unfolded: “It was beautiful. It was like a track gallop out there. She broke well from the gate. There was good speed early and we got into the box seat. She was off the bridle a little bit for the first half of the race as they went at a good gallop, but from the 600 on, once she got clear, she put paid to them and done it quite easy.”

Only two metro winners to go: “Only two more city winners and we’ll be out there. It’s been great. Ciaron and Dave have been a massive support for me. My last four rides for them have been winners, so you put in the hard work and work really hard during the week, you work six days a week and it pays dividends when you get these opportunities.”
