Winning Trainer: Mick Kent

On the win: “She’s pretty tough. Her first couple of runs we tried to get her to settle but to no avail so we just took the view to let her roll. She’s got good figures, she’s tough. I thought she had to go a bit quicker than I would’ve liked but I always knew she’d keep battling it out.”

Coming from the UK: “When I was on holiday I saw her as a two-year-old, so I bought her over there with a view of racing her over here. They kept trying to settle her and my first try with Mark Zahra at Moonee Valley (4th of March) he said she’s a runaway train, so that was always the plan to let her stride.”

Winning Jockey: Josh Richards

Being headed: “She (Starring Role) came up and probably got a neck in front but to her credit she dug in, once we gave her a couple she picked back up and was quite strong to the line.”

Out to 2000m: “We’ll see what Mick thinks, how she pulls up. She finished it off quite strong which surprised me a bit because she goes quite keen but she finished it off strongly.”
