Winning Trainer: Ciaron Maher

On the ride: “Linda took the doubt out of it by rolling forward and controlling the race. She’s fantastic for young horses, she really understands them and it’s a pleasure to have her on.”

The opposition: “I thought it was a pretty even race, he’s always shown plenty of ability. He’s a brother to Curran so hopefully he can scale some of the heights he did.”

Winning Jockey: Linda Meech

How the race panned out: “He jumped well and I was able to dictate terms, then he had a little sleep and I nearly did too. I gave him a kick and he really took off and I went from not going soon enough to going too soon. Only proper horses can do that, he put them to the sword pretty easily.”

The horse’s progression: “We wanted to take advantage of that good gate and his natural ability. You have to be pretty good to win two in a row, anywhere, let alone coming here against raced horses. He’s got a two year old’s brain so once he works things out he’ll be a force to be reckoned with.”
