Winning Trainer: John Salanitri (Frank Salanitri speaking)

On getting the import: “Our biggest supporter in Eddie Hirsch purchased him overseas and bought him over - it’s taken a bit of time for him to really acclimatise and familiarise himself with our surroundings. He’s been starting to come to the fore the last couple of runs and we’ve been really really happy with his progress.

Starting $41 today: “His journey is 2400 (metres) and I think he’s going to get better as he gets further but we certainly though he was going in the right direction and I hope the owners had something on him because we’ve been pretty happy with him.

Future targets: “There’s a few options around, there’s the Hobart Cup , there’s a 78 (benchmark) coming up as well as the Moonee Valley Cup coming up, obviously we’ve just got to keep him going forward and hopefully he can measure up to the targets we’ve got for him.

Winning Jockey: Alana Kelly

On the horse: “He’s definitely come a long way, I sat on him at the trials before he started this preparation and I spoke to Frank and said I’d like to stay with him and he’s just gone from strength to strength. He’s a horse that is putting it all together and I’d definitely like to go wherever he is going.

The run: “He put himself there and they had to work around him early. He got into a really great rhythm and gave all the way to the line.
