Winning Trainer: Jerome Hunter

On the result: “It is teamwork. We all work hard to get results. For this horse to back-up like that, it’s great credit to the staff and also Graeme Gathercole, he lets me choose where I want to have the horses. He said it was up to me whether I backed him up, if I thought he was ready to go and I appreciate that too.”

On where he heads to now: “I think we’ll just wait and see. We’ve got a month or more to get over it, so he’ll just have a little freshen up and I’ll decide later next month.

On whether he’s a Guineas horse: “It’s a long way away for that, so we’ll wait and see. He’s not really bred to go more than 1200.”

Winning Jockey: Will Price

On the win: “It was all foreign to him, down the straight today. I was pretty taken by his win last start, so for him to come here today and back it up a week later (was great). Jerome’s done a terrific job just keeping him happy. He looked great and he’s very professional.”

On his progression: “I think the world’s his oyster at the moment. Halfway down the straight we got headed a little bit and I wasn’t sure how far we were going to go but he just toughed it out today.

“I thought it was pretty special win last start and even his first-up run was full of merit too, so I think he’ll go through his grades nicely and find a pretty nice mark.”
