Winning Trainer: Sharon Crombie (Owner, partner of Mark Webb)

On the horse : “Mark has said for a while now that he’s hit grade at 1200 (metres) and he’sd just getting run off his feet so we wanted to get him out in trip and think he’ll get further after today. Probably 2000 will be his trip, he raced over 1400 last week and Craig suggested he wanted a mile and be positive and we tried to do that today and that’s what he did.

Winning Jockey: Craig Williams

Riding a winner on NYD: “It’s great to be back at headquarters on New Year’s Day and credit to Mark Webb and all his team, he does a really good job placing his horses and he’s getting a really good profile and he’s getting a winner here on a feature day.

On the race: “I thought there would be a  nice tempo early and I thought there was really good genuine tempo. They backed it off and a couple of horses didn’t react too well to the slowing tempo. After my experience of riding my horse last time over a shorter distance  I knew if they were going to sprint they would out sprint him .

The stable was very confident today and how he had come through his last run and said you can go out there and let him do all the running
