Stable confidence: “She’s been really consistent this preparation and we’ve just been tinkering going up in distance, coming back a little bit and I think coming back today she was rock hard fit. I was a little bit concerned they were going to slow down and we weren’t going to have the pace to sprint but they ran it sure enough.”

On Robbie: “It was really good for Robbie, that’s his first metro winner which is very exciting for him. He’s a great kid, he works really hard and he’s a good jockey. He’s going to get his chance over here.”

Winning Jockey: Robbie Downey

First metro winner: “It’s brilliant. I can’t thank the Corstens enough, and a great group of owners who put me on these horses and to ride a winner tonight is brilliant on a Group 1 day.”

How the race unfolded: “They went a nice even gallop all the way, I was in a nice position following horses going well. I didn’t think I was going to get the split when Jamie (Kah) came around me on the favourite, but my filly’s tough and genuine and she ran her heart out right to the line.”

On moving to Australia: “One of my friends said there’s no better place to go than the Corstens and I took his word and it came good for me.”
