A record TAB fixed odds bet of $345,000 was placed on champion mare Winx less than a minute before she won the George Ryder Stakes for her 32nd straight victory at Rosehill on Saturday.
The punter placed the bet at a record Winx low price of $1.05 for a profit of $17,250.
The same punter created a TAB record three weeks when he placed $280,000 at $1.08 Winx to win the Chipping Norton Stakes at Randwick.Earlier another punter splashed $259,000 at $1.06 on Winx while a different punter wagered $230,000 at $1.06 15 minutes before the running of the George Ryder.
“Winx’s total win hold on the George Ryder Stakes was just over $2.95 million which is the second-highest individual hold on her to win a race behind last year’s Cox Plate,” said TAB’s Trent Langskaill.A total of $1.835 million was placed on Winx to win the George Ryder Stakes with TAB Fixed Odds.
