Five TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Thursday at Grafton, Kembla Grange, Sale, Dalby & Pinjarra.

Grafton: Race 8 @ 4:40pm

Boom Chicka Boom from a good gate leads. BOOM CHICKA BOOM (6) will be hard to reel in on the back of some strong recent form. Returned from a seven-week let-up last start and looked home until cut down in the shadow of the post over this trip at Eagle Farm. With the extra fitness today under 6kgs less he looks the one. IMPREGNABLE (2) is a smart first up performer with definite claims coming off a 159-day break. Has a 50% win record at five furlongs and a 33% win strike rate when fresh. Three recent trials should have him stoked right up for this. WUDANG BLADE (4) is a Stakes-placed sprinter with a fine first up record. Resumes from a four-month break today with a couple of sound trials under the belt. Can win at nice odds without surprising. The in-form ATTILA (11) is another chance in a very competitive close to the Carnival.  SELECTIONS: #6 Boom Chicka Boom to take out the last.

Kembla Grange: Race 2 @ 12:40pm

Jarrett and Magic Search to vie for early honours. CARAMBOLA (7) wound up strongly to find the lead 150m from home then peaked on the run and was pegged back late over this course and distance last start. That was her second run back and just her fourth career start so can improve further. JARRETT (5) stalked the lead then dominated in the final stages over this trip at the Sapphire Coast last time out. Has never won away from that circuit which is the main query. I ARIZE (1) is worth considering first up from a 20-week spell. Goes well fresh and likes Kembla so in a race of few chances he has to be included. MAGIC SEARCH (6) next in line. SELECTIONS: Very keen on #7 Carambola.

Sale: Race 8 @ 4:30pm

Devil’s Rain may run them along. This is very competitive on paper. DEVIL'S RAIN (1) this grade and venue before spelling and three back was a comfortable Maiden winner on debut. He looks to have good upside and despite the top weight it will be tough to beat. NO NONSENSE NED (13) won the 58 by a space 11 days ago and expect that to stack up. Locally-trained and can be right in it at odds pushing forward. SILKSTONE (7) overcame trouble when a length at Moe making a ratings spike. Peaks now and is a chance. SOLAR IMPACT (12) placed here and then hit the line well winning the Maiden. Needs a good ride again, but has upside. SELECTIONS: # 1 Devil’s Rain is promising and this suits.

Pinjarra: Race 7 @ 5:40pm

ZARATITE (2) will use the handy gate and has impressed both runs back heavily-backed. Keeps the handy claim and gets his chance racing handier up to the middle distance. MEKONG DEN (7) won here this grade and trip and then missed a lip in stronger at Belmont. She will use the low gate and a bounce wouldn’t surprise. BRITISH BESSY (6) didn’t miss the hat-trick by far at Belmont racing handy. Winning rider Pike is back on and she’s a genuine hope. HERE COMES LENNI (4) is a former Victorian who third-up for the new yard should be ready to show his best. SELECTIONS: A good contest, but #2 Zaratite appeals on the upside.
