Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for July 22.

Goulburn: Race 3 @ 1.50pm

Apache Rush from the middle of the line is the likely leader. HOTEL AMOUR (2) broke the maiden last start at his tenth appearance, grinding out a narrow win over 1600m at Newcastle. Continues to improve as the prep goes on and his breeding suggests he will eat up the longer trip. GLAMARAMA GIRL (7) just whacked away without threatening to finish 3rd at Newcastle last start over 2355m. Will keep coming when some of these are looking for a lie down. ARLINGTON MAGIC (11) ground out a nice 2nd at Wyong recently over 2100m. Still a maiden but is coming together now and can threaten. YEPPOON (5) on the seven-day back-up over a bit more ground is worth throwing in. SELECTION: Very keen on #2 Hotel Amour.

Scone: Race 1 @ 12.55pm

Only a modest early tempo with the scratching of Crime Wave. FASHION ICON (6) has hit the line strongly to finish 2nd in both runs this prep since coming to Kris Lees from WA. Was well back and made a very wide run around the turn before launching late to grab 2nd over 1450m at Muswellbrook most recently. Looks very hard to toss getting out to this trip. Stablemate BRAZENBROOK (5) has started favourite at all three runs this prep without scoring. Was looking for more ground last time when an even 5th over 1450m at Quirindi. Expect her to be more effective over today's journey. HIGH FLIGHT (7) is now winless after 23 runs. Placed 3/6 at this distance and should be about the mark again. OAKFIELD TICKETS (8) chased hard to finish 3rd over 1400m at Newcastle last time. Won't be far away. SELECTION: #6 Fashion Icon is ready to win.

Ballarat: Race 7 @ 4.00pm

They will be flying early as Snitz And The City, Sovereign Diamond and Shebaa lock horns. SNITZ AND THE CITY (2) raced outside the leader and looked to have every chance last start when 4th over 1400m at this track. Given a little freshen up since that run and the blinkers go on for the step back to 1100m. One start for one win at the trip and might get away with this too. SOVEREIGN DIAMOND (4) debuted for Lindsay Park over 1000m at Tatura in December but tired to miss a place after racing on the speed. Trialled well for new trainer Pat Cannon recently so worth considering. GOLDEN PHYSICIAN (5) raced twice last prep and failed to come up so was turned out immediately. Recent trial winner at St Arnaud so expect a bright return this time. GINA LOLA (10) for the exotics. SELECTION: #2 Snitz And The City to bounce back with the blinkers doing the trick.
