Today’s Horse Racing Tips – 9th September 2019

3 minute read

Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at metropolitan TAB meetings for September 9.

Scone Racecourse.

Scone: Race 2 @ 2.15pm

Expecting a blistering tempo with the big field lining up. FOR LOVE (12) is the class in this field, with a Flemington placing to her name on New Year's Day. Led and kicked on well to finish 2nd over this distance at Hawkesbury first up. Struggled at 900m last time but worth another chance back at five furlongs in an easier race. SWIZELER (7) has had her problems and resumes from a six-month spell. Capable on her day and with blinkers on today could be the surprise packet. MAKANA (14) is a Rubick filly with claims on debut after a strong trial win at this track recently. DANEBROOK (8) is another debutante to watch carefully with G Ryan taking the ride. SELECTIONS: #12 For Love to win a pretty thin maiden.

Queanbeyan: Race 7 @ 4.20pm

OUTTA REACH (13) will take plenty of holding out. Fifth beaten less than two lengths in a highway at Randwick last start. Form beforehand was terrific in better company. Still learning. Possesses brilliant gate speed and is clearly the one to beat. FABULOUS FRAN (2) is a consistent type. Beaten on her merits at Canberra last start. Going well and is certainly up to a race like this. ANGIOLINI (1) on the fresh side warrants respect. NO WHAT TO KEEP (7) is in the same boat. SELECTIONS: Keen on #13 Outta Reach.

Wodonga: Race 7 @ 4.30pm

Taikun Warrior and Frankiedee both go forward and set up a decent tempo. This looks a race for the on-pace runners. TAIKUN WARRIOR (5) led last start but found a couple better close to home over a similar trip to this at the Pakenham synthetic. Five runs at today's trip have yielded four minor placings. Has now had three runs back and will be peaking this afternoon. FRANKIEDEE (7) did some work to lead then knocked up badly over the mile at Seymour recently. Can run a cheeky race if things go his way but just one placing in seven runs at this trip is a concern. VILLICANA (11) tackled a far easier race at Narrandera last start and won as expected. Now the winner of three races at this trip so although up in grade today is an each-way prospect. NEVER SUE (13) found a bit of form last start and is worth a place ticket at big odds. SELECTIONS: Backing #5 Taikun Warrior with confidence in a race of very few chances.
