Orange: Race 3 @ 3.10pm

Miss Fortuitous to provide a decent early tempo. VIGOROSO (5) made steady ground to finish midfield on debut  last start over this distance at Hawkesbury. Will find this far easier and with G Ryan taking the ride looks poised to break through. POLISHED PENNY (12) put the writing on the wall last start when she worked home late to grab 3rd over today's journey at Mudgee. Still a maiden after 13 runs but the latest effort was encouraging. NORMA JEANE (11) is in the mix first up from a 16-week spell. Ran a couple of nice races at the close of last prep at the provincials. Good each-way chance if forward enough. COSTA CHIN CHIN (2) continues to improve and is worth a look after being scratched from a later race to be saved for this. SELECTION: This looks a very nice race for #5 Vigoroso.

Mildura: Race 4 @ 3.00pm

Equinox from a wide gate has the pace to cross and lead. PERISCOPE (5) had a five week break before finishing a game 3rd over 1800m at Casterton last start, beaten less than a length after travelling close to the pace. Very fit now and ran a couple of very good races last prep at 2400m so will run this trip right out. LE DUPE (4) made it three minor placings on the trot when he battled on well without threatening to finish 3rd over today's journey at Murray Bridge recently. Dour type who will keep coming. YULONG CROWN (9) had his first run since coming from Ireland over 1400m last start and was unable to quicken when required. By Derby winner Camelot so far more at home over this trip. Likely improver. REPETITEUR (11) is a lightly raced filly by Americain who will also be better off stepping up in distance. SELECTION: #5 Periscope to win and #11 Repetiteur is worth a saver at double-figure odds.

Grafton: Race 5 @ 4.05pm

There's Always One to boot up from the inside gate and lead. BLAZING SUNRISE (1) was lining up for just the second time when he made good late inroads to finish 2nd over 1600m at Wyong recently. Progressive gelding who finds a far easier maiden today and should prove too good. PATRIOT MISSILE (4) looked a chance on the corner but found one better over this course and distance last start. Now ten starts without a win but saves his best for Grafton so cannot be ruled out. THERE'S ALWAYS ONE (13) led but knocked up over this course and distance last time out. Drops 6kgs today so might offer a little more resistance. GRUMBLE (6) hasn't been beaten far at her last couple and will be peaking now. SELECTION: #1 Blazing Sunrise to win.
